Concerned parents gathered at eMbalenhle, emlotheni near Welas robots yesterday, 11 June 2025. The aim of the gathering was to address issues parents have with the initiation schools (Ingoma Ya beSotho).
Young boys have been allegedly running away from their homes for the past weeks. Some parents alleged that their children disappeared to the initiation schools without their knowledge.
An agreement was reached at the gathering where parents decided to rade the schools in search of their missing sons.
It is further alleged that two of the initiation schools were burnt down and boys were taken back by their parents meanwhile some ran and wondered around eMbalenhle.
Another meeting was held again today, 12 June 2025 whereby some parents mentioned that they still do not know the whereabouts of their children, while other parents want their children to continue with the initiation as they were taken with their concern.
