Pastors from leslie in conjunction with Leslie members of the SAPS,CPW,CPF, Men for Change,women’s network, and the spiritual crime prevention, conducted a prayer on Saturday, 25 October 2025 for peace and protection.
The tittle of the prayer was: Hear our Cry.
The purpose of this prayer is to address issues the high rise of crime such as Sexual offenses, Gender Based violence,Suicides as well as to pray for the substance abusers in their community.
This prayer comes after the police have registered a high number of GBV cases and suicide in the area.
The Department of Health has raised a serious concern where children under primary schools between the ages of 5 and 8 are mostly sexually assaulted by biological parents, they further stated that they have been engaging with SDS Social services concerning this matters.
The police requested the Pastors and Bishops to accept them in their churches for more education on sexual offenses and Gender violence cases, it was further stated that since the festive season is approaching the community members must be aware of the car hijackings and Business robberies and House Breakings.
Community members came out in numbers to attend the session, pamphlets of domestic violence were distributed during the event.
