The Nhlapo family is appealing for public assistance after their home in Silkaatzkop, Secunda, was targeted by burglars on the night of Wednesday, 12 March 2025. The break-in occurred between midnight and 03:00am, leaving the family shocked and devastated.

Upon waking up, the Nhlapo family discovered that intruders had forcibly entered their property and stolen several valuable items. Among the stolen goods were a Centurion D5 smart gate motor, a Samsung 60” smart TV, and a Sony soundbar.

The family, still processing the traumatic incident, is yet to open a formal case at the Secunda police station. In the meantime, they are urging anyone with information about the crime or the whereabouts of the stolen items to come forward.

Gugu Nhlapo, a member of the family, is particularly keen on receiving any relevant tips or leads. “It’s been incredibly hard to come to terms with this. We are just hoping that someone saw something or knows something that can help,” said Nhlapo.
