eMbalenhle Combined Men’s Club hosted their 4th annual get-together to report back to the constituency on Saturday, 21 October at Kgotso Hall in eMbalenhle.
The combination of the men’s club included six (6) male burial societies from eMbalenhle, which all contribute and help each other with funeral arrangements whenever they come across a bereavement.
The aim of the event was to discuss matters that affect men, including legal matters, different marriages, how to resolve issues encountered back home.
“Most men don’t know their rights when it comes to marriage.
In most cases, women win everything that we own and worked hard for after a divorce because we don’t have any clue on what is best to do,” said Mr Mahlangu from Kgomo and Nsibande Attorneys.
The event continued, and each men’s club was given an opportunity to introduce new and old members.
Some members raised activities that should be done during the year, such as trips to other provinces, sports days and other activities.
“Let us enjoy the moment because some men only hear this from their wives, as it is an unusual initiative for men to gather and speak out by sharing issues we face,” said Mr Shabangu, Chairperson of the eMbalenhle Combined Men’s Club.
In closing, the club members were dancing to good music, had lunch, and enjoyed their time networking and getting to know each other.
