A head rear collision on the N4 Toll Road between Middelburg and Emalahleni has claimed four lives.
The crash happened just after 5 am today.
The accident occurred between a Toyota Quantum minibus and an articulated truck.
The driver of the minibus and three passengers succumbed to injuries.
Four other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital.
An investigation is underway to establish what caused the crash.
Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe sends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes those injured a speedy recovery.
He also calls on motorists to be always cautious on the road to avoid such incidences.
