On Saturday, 03 June 2023, in the evening, fire broke out at extension 4 in Bethal and firefighters were summoned to a scene where a house was on fire.
One fire-fighter is alleged to have reported on the scene of the fire incident drunk and late.
Community members resorted to assaulting him and sprayed him with a fire extinguisher as he was trying to explain himself.
It is furthermore alleged that the said fire-fighter was transferred from Embalenhle to Bethal due to reporting on duty drunk several times.
Seskhona News team enquired with the MMC of community service Cllr Mavis Nsibande said she was not aware of the incident but investigations will be done if the fire-fighter was found guilty.
In one of the videos trending he emphasised that he was not on duty but responded because one women had called him and he was there to assist.
