With the hope of changing one life at a time and in the application of the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child”, Gull-Air Projects Donated 34 pairs of school shoes to the learners at Zamokuhle Primary School located at Extension 1 in Embalenhle.
Gull-Air Projects is currently working on a building project at the back of the school and due to the fact that it is a business entity, Cllr. Sibusiso Mazibuko (ward 19 Councillor), approached the company for school shoe donations.
The shoes were received on behalf of the learners by Mrs. Mamokhudu Mphahlele who is the HOD at Zamokuhle Primary School.
“Cllr. Mazibuko came to me and requested a list of learners who are in need of school shoes, therefore as being tasked with social responsibilities by the school, I had to identify learners who do not have shoes and qualify as beneficiaries of this initiative,” said Ma’am Mphahlele.
Mphahlele further stated that winter is approaching and these children grow, but it does not mean that if someone donated tracksuits the previous year, they would still fit them to date, therefore we hope that donations from Gull-Air Projects do not end here.
They can request their subsidiaries to join hands with them and other stakeholders to do more for these children because our school caters to poor communities, and on the school budget alone from the department there is not much we can do,” pleaded Mphahlele.
According to Mr. Sfiso Khumalo, the Principal of Zamokuhle Primary School, this donation may seem very small to the donors but it goes a very long way in a child’s life.
Khumalo appreciates the efforts made by the Councillor Sibuso Mazibuko, the Ward committee and the Gull-Air Projects.
