A 24-year-old man reported to Ses’khona newspaper about six (6) men from Kinross Extension 21 who are robbing people at night and attempting to murder them if the victim has nothing to offer.
The victim stated that while returning from work late at night at about 19H00 on Monday, 10 April 2023, just a few minutes after load shedding, he passed the Kinross Area crèche next to an Indian shop just before the unfortunate ordeal happened.
According to the victim, two (2) men wearing balaclavas approached him there to see if he had anything in his possession, and when they saw that he had a cell phone in his hand and was alone, they called out to the other four (4) members of their gang who were also wearing balaclavas to come and surround him.
He further stated that the gang members initially demanded money, which he did not have at the time.
That is when they took his phone and driver’s license by force, thereafter, threatened to murder him with a panga and a knife when he begged for his license back.
After the back and forth, they threw the weapons on the ground and returned the license to him. However, his phone was taken.
The victim hereby issues a warning to the residents of Kinross to be on the lookout for such crooks and to be vigilant at all times when walking alone at night.
