Police in Leslie have launched an investigation after seven (7) cows were found slaughtered and abandoned near the R29 road this morning, 15 October 2025.
According to information received from the communal farmers at the scene, they were alerted of the cows slaughtered and abandoned in the veld. On arrival they were able to identify their cows.
One of the farmers mentioned that it is not the first time cow theft has affected them. He told Seskhona media that the perpetrators target their livestocks in the middle of the night and herd the cows in a secluded area where they slaughter them for their personal gain
The police are urging members of the community to refrain from buying meat from the streets.
