Sifiso Michael Nkosi ( 35 ) suspect in the shooting of a police Constable and a Male victim appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 21 November 2024 where he was set to apply for bail.
Nkosi is in custody following the shooting of a police constable who is hospital and a male victim who unfortunately succumbed in hospital and has been laid to rest over the past weekend.
It is alleged that Nkosi and the constable were in a romantic relationship when the accused suspected the constable was cheating on him before the incident.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has further raised a concern regarding acts of violence against women, and this time around, a Police officer is one of the victims. “Our preliminary investigation suggests the possibility of Domestic Violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim(s) and their families during this difficult time. We will ensure that justice is served for the victims and that the suspect faces the full might of the law.”
Nkosi abandoned his bail application and the matter was postponed to 16 January 2025.
