Vukanini Taxi Association visits seventeen primary schools around GMM

In celebration of Mandela Day, Vukanini Taxi Association visited seventeen (17) primary schools around the Govan Mbeki Municipality on Tuesday, 22 July 2025. 

The purpose of the visit was to celebrate 67 minutes by donating necessities at the different schools. 

“We are only celebrating Mandela Day four days after because our target is to assist school learners and teachers overcome challenges they face at schools, especially the disadvantaged children. 

The association does this every year, and it brings joy to see both the learners and teachers happy to receive the donations. 

The 18th of July is celebrated to honor Nelson Mandela while simultaneously giving back to the community,” said Mr. Fanyana Sibanyoni. 

At each school, the association donated 27 different shoe sizes, 27 pairs of socks, 50 sanitary towels, and 25 stationery packs. 

The association also donated IsiNdebele items at Maphala Gulube Primary School, which will be used by the learners participating in traditional dance.
