The Vukanini Taxi Association officially opened the Tyres and Engine shop on Tuesday, 04 June 2024, at Raisibe Gardens (Ka-Maleleza) in eMbalenhle.
The executive team of Vukta initiated this idea after the association managed to sign a 5-year contract worth 220 million rand (220 000 000.00) with Sasol.
The shop will assist with providing needed tyres and engines to the association members who are struggling to fix their vehicles, including a 22-seater taxi, a local taxi (Avandza), and others.
Tyres and engines will be provided free of charge.
“I know that we want our vehicles fixed and looking brand new, but I would like members to think of others who are in need and cannot afford these items,” said Mr Fanyana Sibanyoni, Chairperson of the Vukanini Taxi Association.
Start-up items from the shop are thirty (30) engines, three hundred and fifty (350) Quantum tyres and more.
