At 00H16 Sunday morning a collision occurred on Skeen Boulevard in Bedfordview.
Reports indicate that the driver of a red light motor vehicle, travelling on the wrong side of the road, slammed into a bakkie travelling with the flow of traffic.
The driver of the car who is an adult female, sustained moderate injuries and was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
The driver of the bakkie who is an adult male, sustained serious injuries in the head-on collision.
The bakkie driver was safely removed by the Netcare 911 specialised rescue team and handed over to emergency care practitioners.
Once stabilised, the patient was transported to hospital for continuation of care.
