A well known man who is also a street committee member at Kinross (Marikana) appeared at the Evander Magistrate Court today for rape.
The incident was said to have happened on Friday, 29 November when the aunt, who also happened to be the suspect partner went to share stokvel grocery.
According to the information received by Seskhona Media, the suspect used a face cloth to close the 10 year old victim mouth and later gave her R20 to buy some sweets.
The case was postponed to Monday, 9 December for bail application.
Enoch Mtshali said, “As the EFF we condemn the abuse of women and children.
It is a pity that the incident happened within the period of 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children.
The man was trusted by the community and what he did is despicable.
We will follow up on the case and would like to see the justice done in this case.”
ANC Kinross branch condemned the rape incident that happened last week Friday, 29 November.
The 10 year old girl was raped by her relative who happened to be a street committee and also an ANC member.
The suspect led several service delivery marches in Kinross, Marikana.
“As the ANC, we strongly condemn such a bad behavior, it is not acceptable at all, either the perpetrator is one of our subscriber or not.
It is surprising that there are people who still violate the rights of women and children, especially during 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
