The group of five (5) soccer fanatics from eMbalenhle, namely Ntokozo Mthembu, Tilo Masango, Senzo Nkosi, Jacky, and Didalove Skhonde, took delight in organizing a successful soccer tournament this year around eMbalenhle where they gave joy and amusement for the community.
Ntokozo Mthembu stated that Senzo Nkosi was the tournament organizer alone until they requested to join him and form a team with the objective of developing the tournament and delivering more entertainment around the community.
The five men have successfully organized two tournaments since merging as a squad.
The first event took place during the Easter weekend at Ext 17, Cheap Corner ground, and Skhalo Samajita won the tournament.
Recently, they held a second tournament on June 16, 2023, in eMbalenhle Ema1, in which nine teams participated, and the winner was Borrusia Underdogs from Ext 19.
“We also hosted Masters/Legend games on Freedom Day long weekend.
However, we are looking forward to organize many tournaments around eMbalenhle to promote football in our community,” said Ntokozo Mthembu.
