Vusimuzi Willington Ndlovu (35) appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 19 March 2025 for a formal bail application.
Ndlovu Stands accused of three counts of rape.
It was heard before the court that the victim who is 10-year-old was noticed by the teachers at school because she could not walk properly.
Community members who came out in numbers to picket outside court said they were disappointed to see that the mother of the victim was in support of the said boyfriend.
“As women form Kinross we are not happy that the accused got bail to come back in our community to hurt another child, the court said it is evident that the child has been hurt but he is given bail it means next time we find someone who has raped we will deal with them,” said Ms Hlatjwayo who is a resident in Kinross
Before giving judgement the court highlighted that giving the accused bail or not doesn’t mean he is not guilty or not guilty.
The state did not oppose his release on bail stating that the child still needs to give a full statement to social workers who deal with young children.
The court granted the accused bail fixed at R2000.00, on conditions that he is not to enter Kinross or go near the victim until the matter is finalised.
The matter has been postponed till 02 May 2025 for further investigation.
