Jeminah Mkhize a facilitator at Food & Trees for Africa, did a plant demonstration, taking the pupils step by step on how to correctly plant a tree.
The learners were later asked questions and given prizes for their participation.
Basizeni Special School principal, Mrs Rampai said she is very thankful to both companies involved because the initiative will encourage more learners at the school to be involved in the garden and by doing so they will be the ones who benefit the most because the school will not buy vegetables or fruits but they will get them from their own garden.
