The MEC for Culture, Sport, and Recreation in Mpumalanga, MEC Leah Mabuza, extends her heartfelt congratulations to Boitumelo Tefu (14) from Govan Mbeki Municipality for her remarkable achievement in winning Miss Teen Universe and Supermodel of the World at the magnificent finale, which was held in Turkey.

This comes after Boitumelo traveled to Turkey for two weeks and was awarded the two prestigious titles.

“This phenomenal victory not only represents a personal milestone for Boitumelo and her family but also brings immense pride to the Mpumalanga province and the Republic of South Africa. Her success is a testament to the talent and potential of young people within our communities, specifically Mpumalanga province,” said Mabuza.

To qualify for Turkey, Boitumelo entered the World League of Beauty and Fashion competition in Pretoria and was crowned Miss Petite Teen 2025.

“My journey in the world of modeling has been nothing short of inspiring. I am happy to have won the two prestigious titles, as I will be driven to make an impact in the community and the world,” said Boitumelo.

During her interview with Seskhona Media, Boitumelo said the two modeling competitions taught her that perseverance and hard work are all it takes to achieve your dreams.

“I would like to encourage children younger than me and in my age group that it is possible to achieve their goals. I look forward to working with orphanages and charity centers around GMM. I am willing to attend events and work with both local and international brands to broaden my horizons,” she said.

The Department of Culture, Sport, and Recreation looks forward to welcoming Boitumelo officially and to supporting her journey as the new ambassador of the province as she continues representing South Africa on world stages.

“We acknowledge Boitumelo’s hard work, dedication, and the support of her family in reaching this incredible milestone. As a young ambassador of our province, she serves as an inspiration to many other young people with dreams of making their mark on the world stage,” concluded MEC Mabuza.
