As part of giving back to the community (Social Labor Plan) and bringing back the dignity of a Black child, Thasasa visited five (5) primary schools in eMbalenhle on Friday, 23 May 2025.

The purpose of the visit was to plant a seed of hope, dignity, and opportunity for a Black child by donating school shoes to underprivileged children.

“These shoes are not just footwear; they are a message that you are seen, valued, and your future matters. They may seem like simple items, but to us, they are powerful symbols of dignity, potential, and a future walking confidently towards success,” said Mr Vuyolwethu Guso on behalf of the CEO, Mr Masasa Makhetha.

220 pairs of shoes were donated. Maphala Gulube Primary School received 40 pairs, Tholukwazi Primary School received 40 pairs, Zamokuhle Primary School received 50 pairs, Lifalethu Primary School also received 40 pairs, and lastly, Isibanisesizwe Combined School received 50 pairs of shoes.

“This really means a lot to us, not only for the beneficiaries but also teachers, because we know the struggle our learners face, especially with bullying. These donations will also make a difference, especially with the winter season approaching,” said Mr Sifiso Khumalo, principal of Zamokuhle Primary School.

Learners and teachers were filled with joy and excitement.

The deputy principal of Maphala Gulube Primary School, Mrs Muthuphi, applauded the Thasasa team for this initiative and said she believes that the beneficiaries would never forget this day.

“This is a blessing because we are not the only school that will receive the donations, but Thasasa will help many of us, which I believe will lower the statistics of bullying in our schools,” said a grade 7 learner at Lifalethu Primary School.

Mr Makhetha and the entire Thasasa team wish to help more learners and encourage them to focus on learning because they believe that education is the key to success.
