Siyabonga Nxowana and Musawenkosi Nkuna were selected in the Mpumalanga team which went to compete in the North West province in Potchefstroom last year December 2022.
Musawenkosi obtained position 2 meanwhile Siyabonga obtained Position 5 which qualified them to be part of the top 6 Athletes who will be representing the South Africa at the world athletes cross country championships in Australia.
Under the guidance of their coach Leonard Makhanya who coaches them on a daily basis at the Sasol club Embalenhle sports facilities. Coach Leonard confirmed everything is set for the two athletes to go represent the country and make their mark.
¨I have so much confidence that they will fly the South African flag high , as we have put so much practice during the festive season preparing for this trip and know they will make me proud,¨ said coach Leonard affirming confidence in his two athletes.
The duo are headed for Australia on the 14 February 2023,where they will depart from Sasol club Embalenhle in the morning
