As part of an initiative of giving back to society and supporting school learners, Sasol has donated uniforms to learners at Holmdene Secondary School, near Standerton.
The school lies within the Sasol pipeline area, and Sasol has been an active supporter of programmes aimed at uplifting disadvantaged schools and learners through various education-support initiatives.
The items donated during the ceremony held on Friday at the school included shoes, shirts and trousers.
Sasol partnered with several stakeholders such as the Standerton Correctional Services, who donated additional shoes to the school.
The Ikusaselihle Career Guidance NPO provided career choices talk to the learners and guidance on choosing the right subjects.
Learners were also warned about the dangers of getting involved in criminal activities, with the Correctional Services bringing in a law offender to speak about the consequences of doing crime.
Sasol employees are allowed 40 hours per annum of paid leave for volunteer work, in what encourages the spirit of giving back. The Sasol for Good initiative allows employees to get involved in humanitarian support in their communities by volunteering their time, skills and resources through company and employee-initiated social development causes.
Sasol takes a holistic approach to its investment in education and offers support to learners from Early Childhood Development Centres to higher education.
