Lucky Johannes Maduna (40) made a brief appearance before the Evander Magistrates’ court on Thursday, 09 April 2026, facing a charge of rape and assault
According to information received from a family member close to the victim, at about 21h00 on Saturday, 04 April 2026, the victim came across Maduna, who forcefully grabbed and took her to his shack and threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate.
Someone went to Maduna’s house and allegedly saw him in the act, and the police were called.
Maduna was later arrested on Sunday, 05 April 2026.
He is expected to appear before the same court on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, for a legal aid application and a possible bail application.
