South African citizens continue to complain and worry about who is next on the issue of gender-based violence as it seems not to deteriorate anytime soon.
This followed after a certain 20 year old girl who was a third year student at Tshwane University of Technology was allegedly stabbed to death on Tuesday, 02 February 2023 by her boyfriend in Gauteng.
Whereas another lady from Gauteng was allegedly assaulted and killed by her husband with a Panga and a Spade to break body parts including teeth.
In the meantime, a 39-year-old lady was also allegedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend who did not want them to breakup in Crystal Park, Ekurhuleni on 30 January 2023.
Another man in Limpopo allegedly killed his wife and hid her body in a pit toilet that was filled with water on 28 January 2022.
Police stations around Govan Mbeki Municipality are currently also experiencing high numbers of people opening GBV cases, whereas in Leandra multiple cases have been opened since the beginning of year 2023 with some being withdrawn by the victims at a later stage because of their partner threatening them.
eMbalenhle community is one other that has a high rise in GBV cases reported, with one recent that was murder where a female suspects reportedly stabbed her lover to death on the last week of January with the high rise of domestic violence cases in the country.
