The organisation is situated at Ext 11 in eMbalenhle at the Living Grace offices near Thandos.
The Roots Izimpande strives to provide high quality services for men, women and children who have experience or are at risk of violence.
The organisation empowers and supports GBV Victims whilst increasing awareness in the communities, couples counselling and teaching children in schools about GBV is part of the campaigns the organisation takes part in.
Mr Zwane received an appreciation award for motivating and giving awareness to communities regarding GBV.
When asked how he felt about being appreciated with an award, Mr Zwane said he really was not expecting such an award, but feels that working with the Department of Social Development and Govan Mbeki Municipality put him on the map therefore he remains grateful.
”We are working hard for our communities and we are currently on a journey to engage with local pastors regarding the discrimination of the LTBTQ communities.
We want to find out if there is any verse or scripture in the bible which says they must not be welcomed in society,” said Mr Zwane about the new campaign the organisation is about to partake in.
