It is alleged that a man was fatally shot and killed at his gate yesterday morning, Thursday, 30 March 2023 at about 05:40 AM in Leslie, Ext 7 when he was about to live his yard headed for work.
According to the police reports, the deceased’s wife stated that she was unlocking the gate so that her husband could leave for work since he worked at Irenedale mine near Standerton.
After closing the gate, she heard several gunshots and screamed for help as she saw two African males sprinting toward the road leading to PE Maziya School.
They were then picked up by a white SUV with an unknown registration.
Reports further reflect that 16 empty cartridges and live ammunition were discovered at the scene.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene of the incident and passed away whilst still inside his Toyota Fortune.
No arrests have been made at this stage, however, a case of murder has been opened by police at Leandra and a team of Investigators has been assembled to work on the case.
