The body of Ms Bonisiwe Mabuza (37) was exhumed on 01 July 2024 at Luphisa graveyard in Pienaar outside Nelspruit after she went missing.
Bonisiwe was reported missing on Tuesday night, 25 June 2024, after her family tried several times to contact her over the phone but without any success. The family later discovered that she was not at her residential place hence they reported her missing at Kanyamazane Police Station on the said Tuesday.
Boniswa was murdered then buried in a shallow grave, allegedly by her assailants.
On the day she was reported missing, her VW Polo was found in a secluded place in Pienaar and all wheels of her vehicle were removed as well as a site mirror and a backseat.
Some items inside her house were also missing, these include a TV set and a fridge.Over the weekend, Police initially took in two people (male and female) for questioning, which led to a breakthrough as well as recovery of some of the items that police are convinced were stolen from the victim.
The two were then detained as suspects whilst the third suspect handed himself over to the Police on Monday, 01 July 2024.
The three are facing a charge of murder, kidnapping, house robbery and more charges could be added against them as the investigation continues.
The three suspects are expected to appear at Kanyamazane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 03 July 2024.
