Nelspruit – The body of the daughter of former EFF Secretary General, Mr Godrich Gardee, was found 60 km outside Nelspruit.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the EFF earlier today.
Hillary Gardee (28) who has been missing since Friday, 29 April 2022 has been found dead.
She had gone missing on Friday and was last seen at a shopping center with a three-year-old child in her care who later was found abandoned meanwhile Gardee was nowhere to be found.
The EFF said the news has left the Gardee family distraught – with the collective leadership of the party at a loss for words.
Gardee was studying towards her post graduate honours degree in IT while running her own business at the time of her death.
The EFF also described Gardee to be an enthusiastic, kind and a loving.
Gardee’s kindness and generosity is said to be most evident in her commitment to adopt and care for a three-year-old child, who by the grace of God was spared on the day of Hillary’s abduction.
She looked after the child as if she were her own, an inspiring act for a woman of such a young age.
According to police reports, the police in Mbombela were called by some members of the community that were on their way to work informing them about the body of a woman which they had found.
Upon arrival they found the body of a lady who has been now identified by her family as Hillary Gardee who was reported missing.
She was still wearing the clothes that were reportedly indicated that she was wearing during her disappearance, and she had some wounds on her head.
It is alleged that a R 100 000 reward has been offered for anyone who might have information leading to Gardee’s death.
Mbombela Police Spokesperson, Col Donald Mdhluli said a case of murder has been opened and investigation is currently under way.
Mdhluli said anyone with information can call crime stop on 08600 10111.
