A 36-year-old man who is alleged to be a sangoma (traditional healer) from Kinross appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 10 February 2026 for the allegation of rape of his two step daughters.
The healer is facing two counts of rape and another charge of compelling sexual assault.
It is alleged that between the period of 2020 to 2024 the accused repeatedly violated the two sisters without their mother’s knowledge as he would threatened to burn them alive and let them die.
A rape case was opened and the accused was arrested on the 29th of January 2026.
During his bail application the court heard that the accused has a rape case that he was acquitted of during Covid-19 period.
The state opposed his release on bail.
It was further alleged that whilst in court another rape case was being registered against him.
His bail application was postponed for Friday, 13 February 2026 for the verification of his address and continuation of his bail hearing.
