The Govan Mbeki Municipality, Ward 17 budget and IDP meeting that was scheduled to take place on Thursday, 10 April 2025 at Kinross Sasol Club was cancelled due to non-attendance by residents.
Only less than 20 people turned out and were informed that the meeting will be postponed for another date to be announced through hailing system.
Some of the residents who attended the meeting showed a disappointment at the turnout of the community members and both ward councillors who were also absent.
On the community group whatsapp, residents said they are tired of attending IDP meetings that do not bear any fruits.
DA Councillor Jaco Tesner also responded on the whatsapp group that he was absent from the meeting due to his sickness and the office of the speaker was aware of his sick leave.
