Family members, friends, and community representatives of the late Kagiso Modipa gathered at Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate court on Tuesday, 10 May 2022 as they continued their quest for justice for Kagiso.

Kagiso Modipa was murdered in 2019 by five suspects after he was wrongfully accused of stealing an electricity cable his neighbour gave him as a token of appreciation for helping him to move a machine from his house to a shack.

The sister of the deceased Agnes Modipa expressed her disappointment at the postponement as the magistrate was unavailable due to sickness.

“This is the third time they are postponing, we are so hurt and disappointed because we want justice for my brother,” said Modipa.

Andrew Leask from lobbying group Afriforum said they will only take action or act should the matter be postponed again in June and he also expressed his dismay at the unavailability of the investigation officer who was supposed to accompany the eyewitnesses to court.

The case was postponed to 03 June 2022, for the commencement of the trial and all eyewitnesses were warned to be available on the day.
