A newborn baby boy was discovered yesterday, 29 July 2024, in eMbalenhle ext. 18 in a veld.
A passerby made this gruesome discovery and informed ward committee member Mr. Ninja, who summoned all emergency personnel, including pathology services and the police.
It would appear the perpetrator stuffed the baby with used nappies in a plastic bag, thereby carrying the baby in a plastic bucket before discarding the bucket in a veld.
The baby was declared deceased at the scene.
Ninja, the ward committee, applauded Ekasi Security and other community stakeholders for always responding swiftly in community emergencies.
