The Newcastle religious council, a non-profit organization of pastors, is calling on political members to behave and be disciplined as the country heads to the national elections on 29 May.

The leader of the organization urges all members of the community to pray to God for this year’s election to be good and not disturbed at all.

He further urged the police and all the leaders of different organizations to monitor the situation in South Africa and ensure that there is no violence.

We ask that we all behave well as we are different organizations so that our election in South Africa will go well and be a great joy.

Congregations of pastors as a whole please tie the knot and stay in prayer from today to tomorrow so that God will be with us in South Africa, said Rev Vusumuzi Kunene founder of Newcastle Religious Council and a President of Changemakers Stakeholders Parliament SA.
