The Portia Ndaba Foundation launched the EmpowerHer Hygiene Initiative on Saturday, 28 September 2024, in Leandra.
The program is aimed at promoting menstrual health, hygiene, and dignity among disadvantaged women and girls.
It is also a critical step towards breaking down systemic barriers that hinder women’s progress.
Furthermore, this initiative is more than just providing essential hygiene packages; it’s about fostering self-confidence and empowering women to reach their full potential.
“I am a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and positive change. I am committed to creating a world where women and girls can live with dignity, respect, and equality,” said Portia Ndaba, founder of the Portia Ndaba Foundation EmpowerHer Initiative.
The event then continued with a panel discussion with experts on menstrual equity. Nozipho Masina, a nurse from Witbank; Mr. Mathibela; and Miss Mtshali led the panel discussion.
All young girls received a girls package including sanitary pads, facecloths, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
“I’m beyond grateful and happy that something in my heart was beyond successful,” said Miss Ndaba in closing.
