COMPILATION OF THE GENERAL VALUATION ROLL FOR THE PERIOD OF 01 JULY 2025 – 30 JUNE 2030

Member of the public in the jurisdiction of the Govan Mbeki Municipality including the farm portions IS/IR are hereby informed that the Municipality has appointed LUTHENDO PROPERTY GROUP as its service provider in terms of section 33(2), of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act (No.6 of 004 as amended in 2014) to do the General Valuation Roll of all Properties in terms of Section 30(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act (No.6 of 2004).

The Valuer has designated persons as Data collectors in terms of Section 36(2) to assist him in collecting data of all Properties in the jurisdiction of the Govan Mbeki Municipality. Such Data collectors can be identified by identity cards issued by the Municipality. Such identity cards shall be always displayed when they will be visiting all Properties in the jurisdiction of the Municipality.

The property owners are requested to allow data collectors to do inspection from outside the premises not to enter inside the buildings, unless appointment to access was made prior to site visit. The Valuer and Data Collectors will begin with their physical inspections from 01 July 2024.

As per Section 41(1) to (3) of the Municipal Property Rates Act, inspections must be done between 07:30 and 19:00 on any day except a Sunday or public holiday.

 The property owner are further urged to update their Postal/ eMail Address and contact details at the Municipality’s Customer care services or Enquiries office, as this will assist to send the Notices of Section 49(1)© of the Municipal Property Rates Act to the correct addresses after the Certified Valuation Roll has been received.
