Putco bus driver and passengers were robbed during the early morning of Tuesday, 25 January 2022 at about 2.45 am at Vlaaklagte No.2 in Tweefontein.

According to the police information, the bus was loaded with passengers traveling from Tweefontein K to Tweefontein A.

On arrival at a bus stop in Tweefontein A loading passengers, three unknown armed men stormed into the bus and threatened the driver and passengers with firearms.

They took the driver’s bag, cellular phone, staff card, cash and fired two shots as they proceeded to rob passengers of their valuables (mostly cash and cellular phones).

They also drove the bus for a short distance, parked it, and ran away with the keys.

No one was injured during the incidents and the suspects are unknown.

A case of Robbery with a firearm is being investigated by the Police.

The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has expressed her shock and disappointment on the robbers who robbed a bus driver and commuters on their way to work this morning and instructed for the immediate arrest of the suspects.
