Sifiso Innocent Khumalo (42) made a brief appearance before the Evander Magistrate’s court on Friday, 04 July 2025, on a charge of murder of his six-month pregnant girlfriend.
The police are currently investigating two dockets, and Khumalo’s matter is expected to be transferred to the High Court.
He was arrested following a gruesome scene at Extension 21 in Kinross, where the body of a 34-year-old woman was discovered lying in a pool of blood, with visible blood stains on the walls.
The victim had sustained a stab wound to the chest and visible head injuries, believed to have been caused by bricks.
She was certified deceased at the scene by the Emergency Medical Services. A clinic card found nearby confirmed that she was six months pregnant.
According to the family, the suspect has been terrorising them during the time of his relationship with the deceased. The sister of the deceased had opened a sexual assault case against Khumalo before his arrest.
He is expected to appear before the court on 08 August 2025
