Through beauty pageants and other activities, Sons and Daughter of Love Teaching and Worshipping Centre (SADOLTWOC) which is a children and youth organisation helps with challenges the youth is facing on streets namely, teenage pregnancy, bullying, substance abuse and etc.

SADOLTWOC hosted a beauty pageant on Saturday, 10 December 2022 at Leslie RDP hall in Leandra to celebrate Christmas.

The aim of the pageant was to raise funds for the organisation to buy musical instruments for children who enjoy making music and singing.

As the organisation started small, Miss Thembokuhle Mahlangu and the team hosts at least two events yearly to gather funds.

“When we started with pageants, there were only three contestants but in today’s event we have nine,” said Miss Mahlangu.

SADOLTWOC also hosted a graduation ceremony for Life Saver Day Care Centre and Lesedi Day Care Centre, both pre-schools from Leandra.

Teachers and children showed parents what they have learned through their pre-school journey.

“I am happy that my child is going to grade one the following year,” said Ms Nkosi.

With that said, Siphosethu Shoba was crowned as Young Miss SADOLTWOC, meanwhile Thandiswa Mhlawuli was crowned as first princess and Lwazi Sibeko as second princess.

“I am happy that I won and I hope to motivate other contestants not to give up on themselves,” said Siphosethu.

The organisation aims on hosting another event in March 2023 and hopes that children from Leandra will participate.
