The mother of a three (3) years old girl from Daggakraal is frowning at the justice system as she is not pleased with the manner in which the case of her daughter’s alleged rapist was handled.

The source reported to Seskhona newspaper that her three (3) years old minor daughter that was allegedly raped by a neighbour who is a 29 years old man in Daggakraal in December 2021.

According to the mother, the little girl was called by her neighbour into his house whom she referred to uncle.

“When my little girl returned home she was crying in pains and we took her to the nearest clinic for examination.

The doctor confirmed that the child was raped during the cause of the day and Police at Daggakraal were immediately summoned to obtain the statement.

According to Colonel Donald Mdhuli from Mpumalanga SAPS Communications Unit, it is confirmed that the case was opened last year December 2021 and the accused was realised on bail.

“The case is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit and the arrest was made after the said case was opened in December 2021.

The suspect has been in custody until the case was provisionally withdrawn by the Amersfoort Magistrate’s Court in March 2022 due to pending DNA results,” said Mpumalanga Police spokesperson.
