Kenneth Majozi Debeila was arrested after police in South Africa declared a man hunt for alleged murder of his girlfriend and her 11 year old daughter.
“The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Gauteng, Lieutenant Elias Mawela has welcomed the arrest of the 31-year-old man who has been on the run after he allegedly killed his girlfriend and her 11-year-old child on 20 March 2022 at Nellmapius, Tshwane.
The suspect was arrested yesterday at Lebowakgomo in Limpopo province after he handed himself to the police,” Colonel Dimakatso Sello said in a statement.
It was gathered that the suspect went missing after Itumeleng Beverly Makhura, 31, and her daughter Tshepang were found dead at his father’s house in Nellmapius, Tshwane.
Makhura was last seen with her boyfriend leaving Joe Banana tavern on 18 March 2022.
The family first started searching for Makhura and sent the daughter to go look for her.
After that a search was launched for them both after the 11-year-old never came back.
The community of Nellmapius found the mother and daughter dead in the suspect’s room after a long search.
The daughter was found on top of the bed while the mother was found underneath the bed.
The suspect will be appearing before Pretoria Magistrates’ court on 14 June 2022.
