Thomas Mogadime hosted the second annual Basadi Community Awards under Thomas Heights, supported by C&C recycling, Dope, Hot and fresh media and Mngomezulu Attorneys in celebration of Women’s Month on the evening of Saturday, 29 August 2026.
The aim of the awards ceremony was to recognize, celebrate, and empower women making a remarkable difference in their communities in different spheres.
The founder of Thomas Heights, Mr Thomas Mogadime, a well-known police officer in Bethal responsible for social crime and communications, took it upon his shoulders and hosted the awards ceremony and involved local models that forms part of Thomas-Heights as ambassadors to make the event a success, where they marketed and promoted the event. The first project was initiated in August 2025.
This year, there were more than fifty nominees received within the Gert Sibande District, and surprisingly, one from Kwazulu Natal Province.
Nominees were then requested to submit their profiles with a portfolio of evidence for evaluations, which were handed over to a panel of adjudicators for evaluation.
On the night of the ceremony, the following received trophies with certificates as 2026 Basadi Community Awards Winners in fourteen categories.

Mr Mogadime thanked all the nominees with their families for honoring the event and for their positive involvement in the ceremony.
He further thanked C&C Recycling, Dope Hot and Fresh media and the Thomas-Heights ambassadors for their cooperation and contributions towards the success of the event.
Mogadime announced that in November, Thomas-Heights will be hosting the Amaqhawe community awards in celebration of International Men’s day and that nominations will be opened soon. He encourages both young and old men to take part in the amaqhawe community awards.
