Learners and teachers from Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School, joined by community members, celebrated the life of the late Tumisho Kevin Madikgetla (19) at House of Praise Church in eMbalenhle on Wednesday, 05 March 2025.
His life was cut short when a fellow learner stabbed him on Thursday, 27 February 2025.
They shared how they knew Kevin Madikgetla and how kind and respectful he was.
“Kevin never cared about himself only but everyone who was around him,” said Sanelisiwe Maseko, RCL Chairperson.
Mr Tshiswaise, the school principal, also shared how he felt since the incident.
“I have never felt this pain my entire teaching career. It is worse for me because everyone wants to show up now, and it is too late.
The SAPS in eMbalenhle failed us as a school because we have been requesting that they visit our school, but they have never come.
Learners and teachers, I know this is a difficult time for our school, but we shall conquer,” he said.
The family also shared words of appreciation.
The funeral service will be held at Faith Revival Church, Ext 18, in Middelburg on Saturday, 08 March 2025 at 09h30.
