The Tshwane MMC for Human Settlements, Cllr. Abel Tau handed over title deeds to the residents of Eersterus.
On Thursday, 23 June 2022, MMC Tau did a symbolic handover of 10 title deeds out of a total of 200, to be handed over at a later stage.
Eersterus, which is located West of Mamelodi, Tshwane is home to almost 30 000 people, majority of whom are previously disadvantaged.
“Ensuring home-ownership through the issuance of title deeds will go a long way in providing security of tenure to the recipients”, said MMC Tau during the hand over.
Today’s title deeds aren’t the first to be issued by MMC Tau.
In February 2022, with just three months in office, MMC Tau issued 237 title deeds to the residents of Refilwe near Cullinan.
This shows the MMC’s commitment to restore the dignity of the people of Tshwane.
