Two victims, aged 37 and 40, were fatally shot in what is believed to be a hit when they were ambushed inside their car in Middleburg on Friday evening, 08 December 2023 at about 18h00.
According to information, a silver VW Polo is said to have stopped next to a green Toyota Corolla, where an armed man from the Polo alighted and allegedly fired some shots towards the victims inside the Corolla.
Upon police arrival, the two lifeless bodies of the victims were found with multiple gunshot wounds.
The motive of the killing is currently unknown, and police request anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrators to contact Detective Sergeant Osia Banze on 079 420 0535 or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has strongly condemned the senseless killing and vowed that the police will work tirelessly to ensure that the suspects are put behind bars.
