Soccer is one sports that is dominating in and around the Govan Mbeki municipality, with very limited infrastructure and facilities on most soccer fields.
The only safe space in communities with no parks for children’s is the sports field grounds.
Through their corporate social investment (CSI) Project New Age Engineering Solutions donated soccer kit to a soccer team from the community of eMbalenhle.
For a team to receive sporting equipment, it gives hope to the young and upcoming soccer players and also proves that their dreams are valid, thereby encouraging them to propel towards the end goal
Soccer gear including soccer boots, soccer kit, cones and other sporting equipment were donated to Dinaledi Boys after they were selected through a proposal which they had sent to the company.
‘’Through our CSI initiative we get proposals thereafter go through a selection process.
Amongst the initiatives we cater for are; blanket drive, education and sports activities.
When we received this teams proposal it aligned with our core initiative and his proposal was the only one for sports within the Mpumalanga province which gave them an added advantage to benefit from our team,” said Katleho Mkhwanazi of the New Age engineering solutions.
Ntokozo Mthembu, coach and founder of Dinaledi Boys received the new soccer kit on behalf of his players and was very grateful for the consideration.
His vision as a coach is to see every child from his team with a comfortable pair of soccer boots and will not stop seeking for donations until his dream has been fulfilled.
