CCBSA established its Bizniz in a Box initiative with an intent to address sustainable development of township and rural businesses, by up-skilling and supporting youth and female entrepreneurs in underprivileged communities.
The company launched Bizniz in a Box, primarily aimed at transforming aspirant entrepreneurs into fully-fledged business owners who can create a livelihood for themselves and others, in 2016.
“Through Bizniz in a Box, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has financially supported and provided training to over 700 entrepreneurs across the country.
In 2021, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa rolled out outlets in the following areas:
Pretoria
· Mamelodi – 10 outlets
· Soshanguve – 5 outlets
· Pretoria CBD – 1 outlet
Highveld
· Duduza – 5 outlets
· Kwa-Thema – 10 outlets
Through this investment, the company aims to support government’s efforts to make a dent on the country’s youth unemployment challenge.
By investing in small businesses, we ensure these entrepreneurs have the competitive advantage to grow, with the intention to create job opportunities in their local community,” said Unathi Mbanya, CSI Specialist at CCBSA.
Co-owner of Kay and Jay Street food restaurant, Julia Mogale-Lekola said their business was introduced to Bizniz in a box by Mr Collins Matsane from Coca Cola.
“He told us he heard about this business that sells good food in the hood and was so impressed with the service and the food diversity we sell.
He told us about the beautiful plan that coke has created to uplift and grow small businesses,” said Mogale-Lekola.
Kay and Jay Street food is a 100% black owned private company, established in November 2018 by Julia Mogale-Lekola and Koketso Lekola and is based in Mamelodi east, 11262 thibela street.
“Bizniz in a box has fulfilled their promise, our business has grown to a better space.
The mentoring and advices on how to build the business forward and the injection of Coca-Cola products has helped the business revenue.
Starting a business from scratch is so hard to a point where we wanted to give up but with big companies like Coca-Cola Bizniz in a box we get motivated and we get to have hope that one day our businesses will grow.
For anyone out there who wants to start a business use what you have and never give up social media is one of the good platform where you can ask around for Information about funders support,” she added.
