In closing of the Women’s Month and thirty (30) years anniversary celebration, Young Emba Stars hosted a tournament on Saturday, 31 August 2024, at Kgotso Hall Sports Ground.
The Young Emba Stars FC was established in 1994 when Mr. Major Phomane, chairman of the team, came back from furthering his studies in college.
The team has five (5) divisions: U/11, U/13, U/15, U/17, and U/19, which are registered under the Local Football Association.
The aim is to build the legacy of Young Emba Stars FC and recruit more talented young boys to join the team.
“My vision is to see the young ones grow and play in professional teams. I am proud to say that one of the boys from our area in Ext 12 is a product of this team and has once played for Jomo Cosmos. I can actually name a few, and I am happy and proud of them,” said Mr. Phomane.
Parents and friends also came in numbers to support the team and celebrate their legacy.
The Young Emba Stars U/19 senior team claimed victory with a score of 3 – 1 to the Blue Eagles, as well as the U/13 team with a score of 3 – 0 to Carara.
Meanwhile, the U/11 Carara team won against the Young Emba Stars with 3 – 2.
