SASA hosts Provincial Selection for athletes living with disabilities

The South African Association for the intellectually impaired hosted the provincial selection for learners with special educational needs8 (LSEN) at the Lillian Ngoyi Stadium on Friday, 09 June 2023.

Ten (10) schools from the Mpumalanga province took part in different sporting codes.

Selected learners will further represent schools from Mpumalanga Province at the Nationals, which will be held in Polokwane.  

Part of the sporting codes were, High jump, Javeline, Shot-put Down syndrome, Discus, Cross country and 1500 meter walk.

Participants were learners from 10 schools for LSEN (Learners with Special Educational Needs), namely:

Basizeni Embalenhle;

Estralita in Mashishing;

Tsakane in Acornhoek;

Kamagugu in the City of Mbombela;

Mantjedi Pankop near Hammanskraal;

Masinakane in   Siyabuswa (Mbibane);

Osizweni in Leslie;

Pelonolo in Marapayane;

Silindokuhle in Mangweni near Tonga; and 

Thanduxolo in Emalahleni.
