A 14-year-old girl fell from her off-road mountain bike and may have suffered head and spinal injuries.
The accident occured at Paardeplats, Krugersdorp in Gauteng on Thursday, 16 February 2023 in the afternoon at about 17h47
When paramedics arrived, they discovered that the young girl had been seriously injured after being stabbed by the bike’s handlebar in the right thigh.
Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioners provided on-site care for the young woman while bystanders dismantled the bike.
A Netcare 911 helicopter ambulance was activated to transport the patient to a specialized trauma facility due to the urgency of her injuries.
