A man from eMbalenhle, Ext 14, lost his life after his neighbour allegedly beat him.
According to the information received from a source, the young man was said to be living alone and was allegedly mentally unstable.
On Wednesday, 23 July 2025, the deceased was accused of stealing a geyser cable and was assaulted while the community members were watching.
He was then released to return home, where he was taken to the clinic.
Seeing his state, an ambulance was summoned at the clinic, and he succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
According to the family, they could not comment on the matter, as they said they are not aware of what led to their son being beaten like that, since he stayed alone.
Embalenhle Police confirmed that a case was opened, but no arrest was made yet.
