African Women Against Corruption Network (AWACN) hosted an event where young girls gathered together and talked about corruption on Saturday, 16 November 2024, at Kgotso Tsotetsi Hall in eMbalenhle.

The initiative intended to educate young girls more about corruption in their workplaces and society and also how to prevent themselves from being influenced by corruption.

Esteemed guests shared their experiences on how they faced corruption while trying to start or grow their business.

“Men in high positions use their power in corruption; sometimes women are also involved but usually influenced by the men in power,” said Ms Motlatsi Nkomote from Corruption Watch during the panel conversation.

The young girls were also educated about promoting women’s unity.

“Corruption is everywhere, and all we are trying to do is fight it and prevent being surrounded by the people who believe in corruption,” said Ms Lerato Sebetlela.
